First photoshoot & getting ready for the regional fair

A few days before JA-YE programme's regional fair we had a smaller scale photoshoot at the studio of Turku University of Applied Sciences. Nora took care of the settings and took the photos with a little bit help from one of the teachers in the University.

Our model was Annaliina Heiskanen who was very easy to work with. She's very photogenic and we got some great photos. Unfortunately after the shooting we noticed that the quality of the photos wasn't as good as we expected. Luckily they're just temporary photos that we took for the regional fair. On 13th February we're having another photoshoot at Brinkhall mansion. Our photografer will be Katja Virolainen. We're looking forward to it.

Tomorrow  will be the JA-YE Start Up Programme's regional fair where we'll be not only presenting our products and company but also competing against other JA-YE Start Up Programme's teams. The winner of this fair gets free participation in JA-YE Start Up Finals in May in addition to getting a 50€ giftgard to Stockmann. The fair will take place at shopping center Hansa, Turku at 12-16. If you want to be one of the first ones to see our clothes, be there!

We also finally published our Facebook, Twitter, Instagram & Pinterest pages. Our Facebook page got over 100 likes in 24 hours! That's amazing! So, thank YOU!

The story behind JULJA

JULJA is a new womenswear label designed by Nora Peltoniemi. The company was founded in 2012 by three students from Turku, Finland. However, heir journey together began way before JULJA.

The idea of JULJA started at JA-YE Start Up Programme for young entrepreneurs, where
they all participated representing different Universities of Applied Sciences. Not only was their friendship but also common interest towards fashion the reason that brought them together as business partners.

Nora, whose lifelong dream was to become a fashion designer, had an idea of a feminine and playful ready-to-wear collection for women. Inka and Johanna knew Nora’s skills and concurred to develop the business idea. They completed each other’s skills so the combination for JULJA was ready.
