CPH VISION: Day 1

Pictures from our first day at CPH Vision Fashion Fair.

JULJA @ Ruisrock

Last weekend we spent relaxing and enjoying good company, music and the sunny weather in Ruisrock, this great festival arranged in the beautiful Ruissalo in Turku. Whilst enjoying our time we also had a few projects with these JULJA Summer Shirts. 

As you may have noticed from our Instagram and Facebook posts, we had quite many JSS's popping up among the festival audience. We also dressed 8 gorgeous dancers in these shirts while they were teaching the happy festival people a dance for Saturday night's flashmob, arranged in co-operation with Olohuone. Unfortunately there were some information blocks and it didn't go as well as planned. They didn't get the music from the speakers so they had to dance without music and therefore without drawing as much attention and activating as much people as planned. These girls made absolutely fantastic job teaching the dance for the whole Saturday and showing up in these JSS's. We're happy anyway even though it was quite a pity that it didn't go through as well as it started. 

About these summer shirts. We have a bunch of new one's just for you, waiting to get published in the online store! ;) We're trying to be as quick as possible so that these JSS's can find new homes asap. JULJA Women Campaign @ Kontti

About a month ago we had the opportunity to display JULJA at Kontti here in Turku. Part of the day's program at Kontti was taking pictures for our JULJA Women Campaign. Photographer Niko Peltoniemi turned Kontti into a photo studio, where he took some pretty amazing shots of eight women dressed in JULJA clothing. We will be gradually publishing these pictures of the eight  beautiful ladies who participated that day.  

Here is our first participant:

Julia Pentimäki (25) is a cultural management and cultural history student. Julia has been working as an assistant at the Maaret  Finnberg art gallery for about 4 years now. Culture in general has always been something Julia has been interested in and has been one of her hobbies. She has an interest in fashion and loves clothes although she admits that she spends most of her money on designer bags and accessories. She loves reading fashion magazines such as Vogue, Elle, and Teen Vogue, and the Finnish Gloria magazine. She was one of the few who had the opportunity to find out about JULJA first hand, and was very excited to be part of the JULJA Women Campaign.

Our First Fashion Show

Our first F/W collection fashion show was in many ways a success. As nervous as we were, being first time fashion show organizers, everything went accordingly and beyond our expectations. 18.5.2013 will definitely be a day we will always remember!

Saturday wouldn't have been possible if it wasnt for all our sponsors, as well as our co-operation partners. JULJA would like to once again thank: Nightclub Apollo, Dressing Mimia, Turku Design Festival, Dance Studio Funky, Dinsko, Make Up Factory, Parturi-Kampaamo StepPoint, Exposa-event Oy, Cafe Brahe, Norlyn and Presento. 

A huge thank you also goes out to our families, friends and all of YOU who came out to watch our show.

JULJA @ Apollo: F/W 2013 Fashion Show

The day we have been looking forward to and been working really hard towards, is finally just around the corner. It's our first F/W 2013 collection launch at Apollo nightclub Turku, tomorrow Saturday 18th  May. Doors open at 22 pm and the fashion show starts at 23 pm. We do encourage you to come well in time. Keeping in mind that the first 100 attendees will get a free glass of sparkling wine!

If you are around the city center of Turku around noon, be on the look out for the JULJA logo and pretty looking ladies!

JULJA inside the lens

Last Thursday we spent time filming a video for our F/W collection, with model Annaliina Heiskanen and photographer Joonas Vohlakari. Despite the weather forecasts prediction on bad weather for that day, we managed to catch the sun, at different occasions.

The video will premier at our first fashion show for the launching of JULJA's F/W 2013 collection at Apollo nightclub here in Turku 18.5.2013.  Here you can see some behind the scenes material from our video shootings.

VERSOT13

Turku University of Applied Sciences launched their annual VERSOT exhibition for their Design students yesterday, which this year goes by the name VERSOT13. The exhibition displays both finale works, as well as different projects accomplished by students from different design departments.

VERSOT13 is also part of the Turku Design Festival. The exhibition is free of entrance and open to the public until the end of the festival. More information on specific times and other Turku Design Festival program here.

JULJA is also displayed at the exhibition as work done by Nora Peltoniemi who is a student at the Turku University of Applied Sciences. We encourage you to go and see the exhibition!
